It is a Lush knoll with temples & a museum. Parvati is a hill southeast of Pune in Maharashtra. The name Parvati is derived from the name of Goddess Parvatai.
The hill is visible from many parts of Pune. Its head is about 640 meters (2100 feet) above sea level. You can reach here by climbing about 103 steps.
These steps end near the magnificent Naubatkhana. Nanasaheb Peshwa, the Prime Minister of the Maratha Empire, took land from Taware Patil and built the Vadeveshwar Temple. Apart from the main temple of Devdeveshwar, there are temples of deities like Kartikeya, Vishnu, Vitthal-Rukmini etc. on the hill. These buildings like Kartikswamy temple, Sri Vishnu temple, Homshala etc. were built in the period after Devdeveshwar temple.
